I went to Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo and got a Bachelor's degree in Biology.  I got my start with animal work by working at dog kennels and in vet hospitals.  I attended Moorpark College and got a degree in Exotic animal training.  From Moorpark I started working with Steve Martin's Natural Encounters company. I learned so much about free flying birds and operant conditioning from Steve Martin and the amazing trainers he employs.  I worked for his company for 3 years where I met and married my husband.  I am currently employed by San Diego Zoo Global where I have worked as an elephant trainer and I currently work as their lead trainer for the bird show at the Safari Park.  Life is good and training is my life :)
